Styrian Golding B

Styrian Golding B is a relatively young hop variety and is grown since 1975 in Slovenia. It is a medium late variety, its optimal picking time being in the beginning of September. Plants have a wide cylinder shape; the lateral shoots being 100 cm from 0.7 to 2.7 ( ml/100g cone dry basic ) . Beer preparedwith this variety has very good  organoleptical scores for its bitterness, taste and aroma. The yield of α-acids is good when brewing with this variety.

CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND BREWING EVALUATIONS
Styrian Golding B is an aroma hop variety, its aroma is mild, coupled with moderate bitterness. It contains 3.5 % – 7.8 % of α-acid (27.0 – 31.0 % of cohumulone). The ratio between α- and β-acids is about 1.3. The essential oil content varies from 0.7 to 2.7 ( ml/100g cone dry basic ) . Beer prepared with this variety has very good  organoleptical scores for its bitterness, taste and aroma. The yield of α-acids is good when brewing with this variety.

Farnesene: 4.0 – 7.0 % of whole oil
Linalool: 1.2 – 1.3 % of whole oil
