Company HMEZAD exim d.o.o. has developed as a cooperative company for the purpose of hops trading and condulting. The company initially operated as a supplier of fertilisers, hop machines and other necessary equipment for hop production.
Throughout its history, the company has specialized in the field of hops: helping and advising farmers in planting and cultivating, harvesting and processing hops, drying and packing hops, briquetting, and selling products worldwide.
Today, company HMEZAD exim d.o.o. is one of the most important companies in the world engaged in the purchase and processing of hops and the integrated marketing of hop products. The company is recognizable both among small brewers on the domestic market and in the republics of former Yugoslavia. For large buyers operating in the global field, it represents a good and reliable supplier of quality products (natural unprocesses hops, pellets and other hop products).
In recent years, the company has processed the majority of its hops into Type 90 pellets, which are the major selling item. Many breweries in the world use this product because it is the closest in nature to unprocessed hops. In range of its products, HMEZAD exim d.d. also offers extracts and pellets of Type 45, which are due to their specificity, produced abroad.

Slovenian hops are grown in Slovenia on an area of about 1,500 ha, spread across the Savinja, Mislinja and Drava valleys, around Polskava, Ptuj and Ormož. The main Slovenian varieties include Aurora, Styrian Golding, Savinjski Golding and Styrian Golding B.
These are aromatic varieties that give a rich aroma and exceptional taste to beer. Brewers are looking for them because of their favourable storage conditions, as the flavours remain unchanged under the appropriate storage and packaging conditions. Even the alpha acids in the hops remain unchanged long after they are packaged.
